Yuri Kobets Wrote:Do you see the "TLB Remote Control 2.0" in the foobar preferences->Components?
I've got the same problem. "Play" starts foobar, but nothing else works. And I can't see any TLB components in the foobar's components list (nor in the components folder of foobar). Uninstalling and installing MC4, and it's add'on for foobar do nothing. No effect from refreshing also.
Please use live update to download foobar support v1.1
I recommend to uninstall old version of foobar support. I hope this version have no problems ???

Waiting for your comments.
Sorry, Yuri, but this version doesn't seem to be working either. How can I verify that I have version 1.1 installed? I no longer have an entry for Foobar support in my Add/Remove programs (I uninstalled prior to using Live Update). MC4 still opens foobar when I push play, but once it's open, it does not see it. Same result if I open foobar manually.

If you can find one of the exe files for it then right-click and choose properties and then version. Another option is to install and run Everest which is the Aida replacement found here. It can tell you about many programmes installed on your computer.

Ok, let me be a little more specific. Which files does foobar suport 1.1 install?

Unfortunately, Everest isn't telling me anything the Add/Remove Programs control panel isn't, and nothing about foobar (except the program itself) is listed.

There are two DLL's:
foo2k.dll - installed into players subfolder of MC installation folder.
foo_tlbRC.dll - installed into components subfolder of foobar installation.

Now All TLB components can be uninstalled via TLB Component Manager or with TLB.

Update to 1.1 doesn't seem to help. No sign of foo_tlbRC.dll anywhere after the installation. Is there any way to extract it manually?

By the way if I make MC component "invisible until started" there is no way to delete it until I actually start the player. With this example of foobar not working it means I can't delete it at all (the menu "Show hidden" in the TLB shows it for 1/100 of second and then it disappears again).
The next try :0 v1.2 via live update.

It is easy to delete plugin. Right-click empty space of toolbar and select Open. Find Media Control.tlbplugin file and delete it.
Ok, after installing v1.1, foo2k.dll still showed that it was 1.0.0.0. I used Live Update to grab 1.2, but foo2k.dll still said 1.0.0.0. I uninstalled it using Live Update, and foo2k.dll was gone, but foo_tlbRC.dll was still there, so moved it to a temp directory and ran LU again to install 1.2 again. foo2k.dll still reports 1.0.0.0 and foo_tlbRC.dll was not reinstalled, so I moved it back. Now, not only does MC not see when foobar is running, I can't even start foobar by clicking play anymore, and the MC tooltip only shows the foobar icon (the message it used to display about not finding the player is gone).
Edit:
Ok, I refreshed TLB, and now the tooltip is back saying "Foobar 2000 player / player is not running" and I can start foobar by clicking play again. I tried a full reboot, but I still can't control foobar or see the song info from MC.
Files versions:
foo2k.dll v1.0
foo_tlbRC.dll v1.1

BTW is your foobar version 0.8.2 ???
Just tested on clear WinXP
My file versions:
foo2k.dll v1.0.0.0
foo_tlbRC.dll v??? (Reported as 2.0 by foobar, timestamp 8/29/03 10:36PM)
foobar v0.8.2
delete foo_tlbRC.dll and reinstall foobar support (download from http://download.truelaunchbar.com/instal...foo2k.exe)
Also check if there are components folder inside c:\Program Files\foobar2000
If there are no components try to create it and then install.
I think I may have found the problem. When the foobar remote control dll was installed, it was installed to the default directory for foobar, which was not where I had installed my copy. I found a more recent version of foo_tlbRC.dll in my c:\program files\foobar\components directory, which struck me as odd because I had installed my player to c:\program files\apps\audio\foobar. I copied the file to the correct components directory and MC works like a champ.
FYI Yuri, I found the correct install path in my registry in the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\foobar2000\" under the value "InstallDir"

1.2 update works fine for me, thanks a lot, Yuri Smile
By the way, is it possible to change volume control sensitivity for foobar? Or may be the question is more relevant for foobar forum? I've noticed that only about last (right) 40% of volume bar is significant. Below that level it comes to almost zero level of volume, at least for me the range -50dB to -100dB(minimum) is the same silence. Sorry for offtopic.
