Up until a couple of days ago, I was using TLB v3.0..

The problem never seemed to occur when I first had it installed, but it got worse over time. Basically, when I pop up one of the menus from TLB and launch an application, my taskbar and systray freeze completely. It often takes a good 30-45 seconds for the application to start running, which is when the taskbar + systray free up again.

I cant understand what's causing it. I tried updating tlb to 3.1, which seemed to have no great effect.

I'm running a p4 3ghz on Win XP, so processing power isn't the problem.

NB. That the desktop itself doesnt freeze during this period, all of the icons work fine. The taskbar bubbles and the systray icons freeze completely until the program starts loading, where if I've been clicking on a few of the bubbles, it will race through the bubbles (as if it's catching up from what I've been clicking on) when the program finally starts.
I've never heard of this problem. Maybe it's a conflict with some other software you have running? Can you post a list of any other software you use all the time (i.e. in system tray or always running on task bar)?
Mcafee firewall/virus scan 2004, nokia pc suite, gmail notifier (tells me when I get e-mails) and MSN messenger, that's about it really.
Stim, Can you give us the following information:

Right-click True Launch Bar, click on TLB Settings... and then click on Registration.

Registered or Demo version

And then click System Information:

Also, it may be helpful if you could provide us with a process list.

Hijack This! will give us all this information... Smile

Yes there is. Download Hijack This!, run it and save the output to a file and attach it to a post here. Or cut and paste the information... Smile

I know about this problem on some systems. But cannot find any solutions yet. The only thing I can recommend: try to turn off the option Automatically search for network folders and printers under the Folder Options.
Yuri, that helped thank you.
