I have just installed the Commandline Plugin and tried out the
search facility by typing g truelaunch and pressing enter.
Internet Explorer opens to a google page with truelaunch as the search criteria.
Unfortunately I use firefox as my default browser. :?
Anyone have an idea as to why this is happening? That is, IE is opening instead of Firefox?

You need to set firefox as default browser. In the firefox Open Tools->Options->General tab and check the option under "Default browser".
If you are using Windows XP SP2 then open Add/emove programs, click "Set Program Access and defaults", click the "Custom" in the list and set the default browser.
Thanks for the reply. Yes I have done both of those suggestions.
The problem remains.

Fixed it!!
In case its needed in the future here's what I did.
In an explorer window, click Tools->FolderOptions->FileTypes
In the list that appears select the line that has
Extensions NONE Filetype URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol
and click Advanced.
Then click Edit.
Make sure that the "Application to be used to perform action" field
points to Firefox.exe. Mine says C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILL~1\FIREFOX.EXE -url "%1".
Uncheck DDE
Click OK and then OK.
Also do this for URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy
After doing these things I am now able to use the Command Line plugin to launch a search in Firefox.
I hope this is clear enough for others who need this information.
