Full Version: 4.4.1 Kills Text Highlighting (selecting)
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
This version kills text highlighting (on most, but not all programs) with the mouse or keyboard. Also kills many fuel gauge type progress bar highlighting.

I should have said TEXT SELECTING and not highlighting.

Most any text selection or progress bar indicators are missing (see JPEG's). The JPEG's show what they should look like on my system (the blue bars). On 4.4.1 all the blue bars are gone.

I had to completely uninstall 4.4.1, run Registry Mechanic, than CCleaner, than Registry Mechanic again and finally re-install TLB 4.4 and do a TLB Restore to get everything working again.

Another JPEG.
Still another.
And, one more.
One other thing that I noted with this problem was when I did an MS Win XP System Restore to the day before I installed 4.4.1, the missing text selecting and missing progress bars were restored.

What I don't recall was if the System Restore actually restored my system to TLB 4.4 or not (I think it did).

I also did a complete un-install of 4.4.1 with Revo Un-installer (in the advanced mode) but the missing blue bars were still missing leading me to think the problem is in the Registry. TLB 4.4.1 must be doing something funky to the Registry that is wiping out all text selecting and progress bars.

After un-installing 4.4.1 I had to do a System Restore to get text selecting and progress bar highlighting back.

I'm not sure this is because of TLB. TLB can't to attach the other processes and do something bad. But I'll check this.
Thanks. Yuri.

It has to be TLB 4.4.1 as 4.4 (and all prior versions) did not do this. It happened as soon as I installed 4.4.1 and goes away as soon as I un-install 4.4.1 and re-install 4.4.

I installed 4.4.1 three times trying different situations and they all caused the problem.

GREAT news; 4.4.2 beta has completely resolved this problem.

All text selecting and highlighting is back.

Hmm... good news, thanks.
