I know I am a dummy.

When I right click the taskbar, I can click the toolbars and click on Free Launch Bar.

But I don't see it anywhere. Well, I maybe saw it once. Can't get it back.

Maybe it is hiding underneath all my stuff.
What is your Windows version? If this is Windows 7 or Windows Vista try right-click the toolbar click Properties, select the "Toolbars" tab, select the "Free Launch Bar" and click OK.
On WinXP, I right click the taskbar, go up to toolbar, click on Free Lauch Bar. It is now checked.

Cannot see anything. Maybe it is hiding. Do I have to reboot?
Please can you send the screenshot of the Toolbars menu?
It works ok. It took me a while to figure out how it worked since there are no real instructions tho if you watch how the true lauch bar works, then you will know.

Unfortunately I am looking for a launch bar that is permanently on the opening screen. I have objectdock but it is too cartoonish for my liking. Right now I am using pegstop's pbar.

Can you give a little more explanation what you are desiring for the launchbar?
