True Launch Bar 5.6.x was working perfectly in Windows 8 CP (Consumer Preview) to create my own menus and looked absolutely beautiful on the new taskbar...
I just downloaded and installed the new Windows 8 RP (Release Preview), while it is certainly more polished than the previous version, it looks like Microsoft has been trying to cripple the Quick Launch Functionality.
The %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch Folder is still there, but the option to add it or a True Launch Bar in the Right Click Options on the taskbar is absent.
I really don't mind any of the OS or UI changes made to Windows 8 and have all of my other programs working as they should, but I want my True Launch Bar back !!
I've tried Windows 8 Release Preview - True Launch Bar working well here. Maybe you have to restart computer after installing TLB? Also what version of Windows 8 you are using: 32 or 64 bit?
Good to know... I just reinstalled Windows 8 RP 64-bit and will try it again.
Is the True Launch Bar option available for you when you Right Click the Taskbar ??

Yes, it is available.
True launch Bar 5.6.x also not working for me on Window 8 RP, during installation TLB - system is freezes. Only killing process TLB installation helps.

What do you see on the installation window when it freezes?
During TLB installation when unpacking the file "tlb.dll" in task manager shows that the drive is full. I waited 15 min. but nothing happened, installation is not continued.

Sorry, missed the phrase "disk is full" in your previous post. Please can you take a screenshot of this message (or how you get "disk is full" message).
Also what is disk size on your system?
Also, please check the installation folder: C:\Program Files\TrueLaunchBar
Are there the file tlb.dll? If the file is in the folder, you can try to register it in the system manually:
1. Create the the shortcut on the desktop to the
regsvr32 command (just type regsvr32 on the first wizard screen)
2. Open the properties of the shortcut, click "Advanced" button and turn on the option "Run as Administrator"
3. Drag tlb.dll and drop it on the created shortcut. This will run the regsvr32 command with tlb.dll parameter.
If you get the error message, please can you post the screenshot of this message here.
If no errors then you get the installed TLB

Also please can you check the digital signature for installation files (open the properties for file and check the "Digital Signatures" tab).

I just installed truelaunchbar5631-beta(w8).exe on Windows 8 Build 8400 RP (Release Preview) 64-bit and after executing your regsrv32 trick, everything is running as it should...
