PowerDrawers. I plugged in the CD drive and installed PowerDrawers without any extras while in Admin. I then restarted and logged into DAT. No sign of PowerDrawer icon but right clicking on folders works well. I then tried right clicking on Recent Folders and the system crashed. I rebooted back to Admin to download updates. The shortcuts work all right in Admin but not in DAT. Maybe I should install from DAT? First I tried to download updates but failed due to 'error reading update header core.new. Try update check later .error code: 0'. Logged into admin, tried from there. Same. Then tried again and works ok. Downloaded and installed all updates. Ran the PD Organiser in DAT and this produced the special folders. Now seems ok in DAT as well as admin. I then matched the settings with TS1.

Notes: 
1. DAT is a user with admin credentials).
2. TS1 is Toshiba Tecra S1 laptop.

Conclude: Maybe it was the update that was needed.


The icon in the sys tray is no longer there and also there have never been any program or internet icons on the DAT desktop. However I then ran the PD Organiser in DAT and this produced the extras. Rebooted again to see if the task bar icon appears. (It is ticked in the main display).


Powerdrawer  
26.04.03 (Toshiba Tecra S1)
I installed Powerdrawers from the CD. During installation it found a 'shell extension' with following details: Directory - Encryption menu. Drive: ...great long string of numbers... I went ahead anyway. Seemed to work ok. I then checked for updates but 'program not responding'. Tried again - same result. Then rebooted. Meanwhile I used update on the 8100 and it worked fine. 

I right clicked on a jpg file on the desktop and something crashed. Sent an error report. After that everything hung. It was the error reporting that hung so had to terminate it. Tried the update again and this time it worked. Involved a reboot. Started up with 'connecting to FTP site 2 - but seemed to hang. Task Manager says PowerDrawers Update 'not responding' so closed it and tried again. This started another error report. Tried update again - this time by right clicking on the Power Drawers icon. (Previously I had the con fig screen open).
