- Harboe - 04-25-2008 Glad to hear it. If I can help in any way, just let me know. ![]() - FlyingHorse - 04-27-2008 3 Days running and no crashes for me with 4.2.4 RC1 Thanks for all your hard work Yuri. - FlyingHorse - 05-05-2008 Sorry to say it but the explorer crashes continue with 4.2.5 RC1 ![]() - Belarathon - 05-06-2008 Fortunately, I just discovered this thread quite by accident. I've been running Windows Vista x64 for a month or two, and have had sporadic explorer crashes, and have been unable to track it down. Just a few minutes ago, my explorer was crashing about every two minutes and reloading. I took TLB off the taskbar, and now the explorer.exe is stable. If you need any help - debugging or whatever, let me know. - Yuri Kobets - 05-06-2008 Please can you test this version - Belarathon - 05-06-2008 I'd be delighted. I'll get back to you... - Belarathon - 05-06-2008 tlb64-425-test.EXE "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running..." ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 5/6/2008, 20:20:46 Machine name: TALYN-PC Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Business (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: VIAK8T System Model: AWRDACPI BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+ (2 CPUs), ~2.3GHz Memory: 2046MB RAM Page File: 1453MB used, 2872MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 64bit Unicode - FlyingHorse - 05-06-2008 I downloaded and installed tlb64-425-test.msi. Perhaps Yuri changed the file? Anyway, it installed fine and I will test it out for a few days. - Belarathon - 05-06-2008 I tried downloading the file again, but it still thinks I have the wrong OS. In the meantime, I now know why my explorer was crashing. I have the media plugin installed in TLB, and my media player is WinAmp. I also have a shortcut menu to a folder filled with album playlists from my music collection. I just browse the playlists from the TLB menu, and play them. Today while editing nearly all of the tags on my thousands of mp3s, flac, ape, and wv extension audio files, it seemed that everytime I saved a tag, that explorer.exe would crash. If I turned off TLB, the explorer stopped crashing. This is new behavior just for the last public beta only - never had that problem before. However, there is one ongoing issue that I've always had in regards to saving playlists - When I overwrite en existing playlist, TLB (or explorer.exe...not sure) crashes with an exception error, and then the explorer quits and reloads. It happens without fail, and seems to have something to do with those playlist shortcuts listed in the menu on TLB. - Harboe - 05-06-2008 Hi The installation of the test version went fine and I didn't have a crash yet. Will rapport again later. - Yuri Kobets - 05-07-2008 Belarathon, do you use 64-bit Windows? - Belarathon - 05-07-2008 Yes I do...absolutely. That's why I posted that snippet of DxDiag above...it shows DX10 x64. - Yuri Kobets - 05-07-2008 Belarathon Wrote:Yes I do...absolutely. Edit: Curiously, x64 425 RC1 will install, but the last official build will not (x64 4.2). It gives me the same error as your test build. Right now I have x64 424 RC1 installed, and I'm going to see if the same sort of tagging activity crashes TLB. - Yuri Kobets - 05-07-2008 Agree, it's really odd ![]() Here is the zip file. Unzip all files into tlb installation folder and you get the new version. |
