Can't pull taskbar to the top - mentallo - 10-05-2005 I can't pull a new (or any) taskbar to the top of the screen. I have tried everything (even standing on my head singing "We didn't start the fire" by Billy Joel). Anybody know why that could be. I works on my computer at work with no problem. Thanks george - Yuri Kobets - 10-05-2005 Check out your registry: Code: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer - mentallo - 10-05-2005 I checked the registry and there is no entry called that. An other ideas? - Q Section - 10-07-2005 Of course you have already insured the "Lock the Taskbar" (found by right-clicking the taskbar) has not been checked, right? Same Problem!!! - cxl99 - 12-28-2005 This is EXTREMELY frustrating. . . I have the same exact problem. I used to be able to drag the toolbar and make it float OR drop it on another side of my monitor and now I cannot do either one . . . I don't recall any special event that occured at the time it stopped working either. . . I have to get this fixed . . . Please help. I have scoured this forum also and tried the registry (the entry didn't exist). Thanks VERY much in advance. - Yuri Kobets - 12-28-2005 Try to create that DWORD value named NoCloseDragDropBands and set it into 0 (zero). You need restart after adding this value. - Yuri Kobets - 12-28-2005 other "bad" value is NoMovingBands - cxl99 - 12-28-2005 No luck with that. The strange thing is that I can drag and drop the actual Explorer taskbar to other parts of the screen, but I can't grab just the True Launch Bar menu and drag it. . . I get the 4 arrow heads cursor and it looks like it's going to move it, but nothing happens. It's like it's "locked" but it isn't. - Q Section - 12-28-2005 By-the-way: There are two separate settings for locking the bars. One is via the right-click on the taskbar in the context menu and the other is in the TLB Settings>Toolbar>Lock toolbar. - cxl99 - 12-28-2005 Thanks. Both are unchecked. It must be something so obvious because I have gone over every single menu, tab and setting there is and nothing helps. - Yuri Kobets - 12-29-2005 hm... cxl99, please contact me by MSN Messenger (truesoft@penza.net) or ICQ (11171065) - touki - 04-19-2006 i too am experiencing this problem for years i have run a bar at the top. now when i try and drag, nothing happens, tried all solutions listed but nothing works. would really like to know. EDIT: i have looked around the forum, does no one come here? anyway i downloaded and am using the Host standalone program, however i would like to be able to use the explorer version too, so if you have a fix, that would be great. - Yuri Kobets - 04-21-2006 Quote:now when i try and drag, nothing happens, tried all solutions listed but nothing works. So, you can open TLB on the taskbar and can't to move it to the top. Is this correctly? - touki - 05-15-2006 Yuri Kobets Wrote:Quote:now when i try and drag, nothing happens, tried all solutions listed but nothing works. So, you can open TLB on the taskbar and can't to move it to the top. Is this correctly? that is correct, at this point i have to use tlbhost. make toolbars float / dock them to the top of the screen - dr.jensen - 08-04-2006 Hello, i've had the same problem and found this solution which worked for me. Analysis: - first of all I checked out the faq's. Especialy the one how to undock a tlb or make it float - didn't work - in the TLB Settings -> Toolbar "Lock toolbar" was not set - in the context menu of the windows task bar "Lock Toolbar" wasn't set either - the registry entries mentioned in this thread didn't exist on my pc Action: Step 1: activate "Lock toolbar" in the TLB Settings -> Toolbar Step 2: activate "lock toolbar" in the context menu of the windows taskbar Step 3: revert step 2 Step 4: revert step 1 Now I was able to move my tlb's to the top of the screen. Seems like something between Windows and TLB hooked up since I couldn't move the toolbars before. Hope this helps |
