filter message body in Mail Monitor - kestutis - 11-20-2006

How is possible to filter message body in Mail Monitor?

Mail Monitor doesn't download the message body until you tell it to, so it can't automatically filter by it.

The benefit of only requesting the headers is that most spam can be identified just by the headers so it doesn't need to spend time and bandwidth downloading the body.

That said, it could always apply a filters to the message body after you've requested it to load. So it might make a useful enhancement. Particularly if you were wanting it for filtering different kinds of ham rather than spam.

To make the filter by message body you must select the "Mail body ...." from the Search function list. See the attached screenshot.

I hadn't realised that was available. To make it more discoverable I would suggest renaming "Header field:" to just "Field:" so that Message Body can be in the top box where people expect it to be and then when people select it you can change the "Search function:", which I'd rename to "Condition:", to only contain the conditions that apply to the message body.

If you was such a fool and left your e-mail addres on pornsite(long time ago I was) - there is proven and working miscellaneous filters for Mail Monitor. Just download and import it. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.muzikosmokykla.lt/testas/mailmonitor/filters06.11.21.zip">http://www.muzikosmokykla.lt/testas/mai ... .11.21.zip</a><!-- m -->

And one more question: is there in regexp possibility to switch between case sensitive and insensitive expression?
