It's listed as a "additional functionality" of the media control plugin ....I suppose it's kind of a countdown/stop watch or something like that ... but pressing the skins play button does nothing ... :-k ... how does this thing work ??

You must set the skin for timer too.

Aaaah, I see! Problem was that I had removed all skins which I don't like ... without realizing that those scanty ones were actually timer skins. Reinstalled the plugin > problem solved.
