Menu clicking and transparent background! - p3lim - 02-22-2008

Hi, I just got this program and I like it alot.
My reason for using this program is to remove the windows startmenu!

So, if anyone of you know, please tell how i can do the following things:

*Make a program run on a shortcut (i list my programs with a letter in the beginning, so i can press Winkey, then press 2 and the program with 2 as the first letter will run.) I have to press enter for this to work.
*Get the menu transparent like found in this picture: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://i15.tinypic.com/8b8jc53.png">http://i15.tinypic.com/8b8jc53.png</a><!-- m -->

Thanks for helping Smile

edit: Startkiller <3

The answers depends of the Windows version you are using.

Quote:*Remove the icon in Taskbar.
*Bind to TLB (just winkey, not a combo)
You can use the StartKiller. It removes the start button and it can to redirect WIN key to TLB. But StartKiller is not compatible with the Windows Vista Sad

This is possible on Windows Vista only and the last TLB beta version. TLB Settings->Effects->Glass effect

Hmm... interesting idea Smile Right now it is possible to run the program by pressing ALT+Letter. This is the accelerators.

Using XP, and i found startkiller Smile

Here is a picture of my setup so far..

I wanna explain better what i want..

None of the programs in that menu is hotbinded, i just renamed them with a letter/number before their name.

When i press a letter or number the program gets highlighted, then I can hit enter and the program will execute.

I wanna remove the need to hit enter. Im using unique letters/numbers so there is just one of each one...

I had the same thing in the default windows Startmenu, but its ugly hehe..

Ps. Anyone know a nice looking icon of a plus sign?

p3lim, currently this is impossible to run something by pressing one key as you described. Currently it is possible run run by pressing ALT+T to run uTorrent for example or ALT+4 to run IRC etc.

To do this you need to enable accelerators (TLB Settings->General Options->Enable Accelerators), then rename all items and add the & char before letter you want to make the accelerator. For example:
Code:
"4. IRC" rename into "&4. IRC"

So the 4 will be underlined: 4. IRC
And you can press ALT+4 to quickly run the IRC.

Thanks alot for the help btw Yuri, never got around telling you that. Great program Wink

Just one more question: Using FreeLaunchBar + StartKiller, is it possible to hotkey the menu itself to WinKey? It worked in TrueLaunchBar, but I like FreeLaunchBar better (less is more)

Shame, thats the only feature that I miss.

Heck, id pay the full license just to get that function in FreeLaunchBar.

Edit: The function is actually in StartKiller, so... Id like to request FreeLaunchBar support for it Smile
