TLB freezes under Windows 8 - daniel337 - 03-11-2013
Hi,
I have a problem using TLB (actual 6.4) under Windows 8 Pro (32-bit, German).
Again and again (but not daily) the whole desktop is hanging in the
moment when I want to select an entry out of the TLB-sorted menu. The whole TLB menu area is complete frozen. I can even close and handle all other active open programs, but in the taskbar, they are even displayed even after I close them.
After them, I have to kill the desktop process of Windows and have to logon new to Windows, then I can continue working.
Any ideas for this strange behaviour?

Please can you post the screenshot of your menu? Is this problem appear with one menu only or maybe with the certain shortcut?

It is not only specially at one certain menu. And nothing about shortcuts.

Is the shortcut you've clicked ran before TLB hangs?

For example, you want to run the Notepad from TLB menu. You've clicked the shortcut and TLB froze. Do you see the Notepad?

No, the start menu is freezing before any program could be launched.

I've double checked the TLB code for apps executing - it is clear. Maybe something wrong in system?
Please can you check the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellExecuteHooks
Usually this key is empty. If you see any values in this registry key, this can be the point of the problems.
Also what type of items cause the bug? Is this shortcuts or documents in the Virtual Folders?
