New user question about how to create menus that look like this - samsks - 04-24-2013

I have version 6.5 and I have found TLB to be very useful. I would now like to create a menu like what is shown on your home page with icons in a horizontal row, so I can have all of my browsers listed in a horizontal row just like the example shown on your website (screenshot attached). I can't figure out how to do this. I've looked at your videos, read the help file, and searched the forum, so I'm pretty sure I'm overlooking something that must be very basic! Can someone please point me in the right direction. I can get vertical menus to work fine, multicolumn, etc. But this example appears to be one single column, with multiple icons in each "row".

Thanks,

Thank you, that helped. I missed that in the video originally. So many options, but very powerful!

On those rows where you have just the icons with no text (browsers, folders), how do you control how many icons in each row? Mine currently has 5 icons across before it starts a new row, I want to reduce that to only 3 icons across then to a new row. Thanks.

You have to decrease the maximum menu width. Right-click in the menu, select "Customize menu...". See the attached screenshot. The marked option defines the maximum menu width. The default menu width is 300 px. Play with this option to find the optimal value.

Perfect, thanks again. For anyone else wondering, a width of 200 works for 3 lrg icons per row, and 240 for 4 lrg icons per row.

Sorry to keep asking what I'm sure are simple questions but after playing around I just can't find the way to change this. About halfway through the video you set each item to "icon and text", and each icon displays the accompanying text in full ie "Internet Explorer". When I try this setting, the words are being cut off, for example it would show "Inter..."

How do I expand the width of each item to show the full text?

Thanks.

See the attached screenshot. Increase the marked option.
