Hi Yuri
How about a scrolling text plugin which is user defined for news or stock market or emergency information or Amber Alerts? This could have a user defined width also. Perhaps it would be hidden by an icon unless an alert message came through in which case the icon flashes and a click opens the scrolling text field or even the text to be seen in a tooltip form.
