I upgraded to Office 2003 and am sorely disappointed that Microsoft did not include the Office Shortcut Bar. Will True Launch Bar allow me to emulate the functionality I'm used to? That is, I want the toolbar to auto fit into the title bar area and always be on top just like the Office shortcut bar. I don't like toolbars sitting in the taskbar area. Is this possible? Thanks.

You can create a new toolbar as a side bar, but if you make it always on top it will disappear if you press show desktop. if you have it not always on top then it will not dissapear when you do press show desktop. the opposide thing will happen if you have the toolbar floating, play with this as it's rather weird.

I have yet to figure-out how to make a floating toolbar. I notice there is no help file with the new layout. I read the FAQ's and said to show the toolbar titlle, but if I uncheck "hide toobar title" nothing seems to change (ie title is not shown).

Floating toolbar.

- Move mouse to Left side of toolbar
- Left click and HOLD
- Curosr will become cross

- Drag toolbar off taskbar
- Release mouse click
- True Launch Bar becomes floating

Thanks cmishima. I tried that, but evidentally was not close enough to the left edge; somewhat a tight tolerance.

zero the easiest way to do this is to hide all open windows so you have a clear desktop with some icons, then drag a folder to the edge of the screen you want to see the toolbar ( for example grab My Documents and drop it on the right edge of the screen ) you will notice a new toolbar, now you can select a new TLB toolbar just as usually with a right click and then close my documents. you must restart/log off to save changes or they will be lost next time explorer starts
