However there doesn't seem a way to programmatically do that with True Launch Bar.

When the theme changes, the menu backgrounds or colors stay the same, light or dark (even if the menu colors are untouched and thus taken from the system).

I do realize TLB is not being developed anymore (I think), so I am not asking for a new feature - only a little guidance in how to implement a script that may achieve this functionality.

Personally, I don't use skins, only colors, but I suppose I could have two skins ready that reflect the dark/light system colors.

Then I could create a PowerShell script to:

1) edit the setting file(s) that indicate which skin is being used;
2) restart explorer so that the background colors of the menus visually changes.

Is this possible?

Specifically:

Which files need to be modified to switch skin via script?

Since your update with version 8.0 I'd like to submit a request.
It's not possible for us to create Windows' own virtual folders' menus (besides the predefined ones).

One example is: Applications folder which is

explorer.exe shell:::{4234d49b-0245-4df3-B780-3893943456e1}

and it can be opened by:

shell:appsfolder

and it can be opened by:

from command.
It's already possible to see those virtual menus by only the shortcut inside a TLB menu. However, we can't create a menu from that shortcut.
Maybe it's no big deal, but I thought you could give it a try if it's not very difficult to achive.
Perhaps, an update on your "predefined virtual folders" list could be enough.

I'm just wondering....

Suppose you have a TLB taskbar menu and there's an item on it that opens a sub-menu when you hover over it. Is it possible to have an action performed if you CLICK on the sub-menu button?

To be specific, I have a button called Explorer. When you hover over the Explorer button a sub-menu appears showing 4 different folder locations so that you may open a particular location in Windows Explorer. Is there a workround that will allow you to click the Explorer button so that it performs another action? For example I might want to open Windows Explorer at its default location rather than have the sub-menu appear and then make a selection.

I don't think this is possible but perhaps I'm missing something? Anyway, I was just wondering...no biggie. Wink
