I'm running TLB on windows 7 64bit. I currently have a bar integrated into my Win7 taskbar, and a standalone at the top of the desktop.

When I change skins, make changes, or pretty much anything else my menus change just fine, but the standalone bar look and feel never changes. Is it not possible to change how it looks? I'd like to change it but nothing I do affects the actual toolbar itself, only the menus.

The TLB skins don't skin entire toolbar, only the buttons. But you can set the toolbar color or background image in the TLB Settings->Toolbar->Appearance and Colors and Fonts.

OK, that's a bummer. Why do all the TLB skins in the skin library show different looking toolbars?

Anyway, is there any way to make the toolbar transparent (glass effect) without making the icons transparent too? Like in the menus?

I know at least two ways to change the taskbar/toolbar appearance: WindowBlinds and custom visual style.

The standalone True Launch Bar supports the transparency option. Right-click the empty space of the toolbar and select "Toolbar Properties". Use the Translucency slider to set the transparency. Also I can recommend to select the toolbar style as "taskbar" to remove the big borders arround the toolbar.

I tried changing it to taskbar, but it is quite plain and ugly when I do that.

As far as the transparency, the only option I see is Windows Vista Features/Translucency, but when I adjust that slider nothing appears to happen.

Is your Windows supports the Aero Glass interface? Do you have the transparent (with glass) the taskbar and windows captions?

I'm not sure I know what you mean. I'm using Windows 7 and the Windows taskbars are transparent. And, the menus on TLB are showing like glass, just not the toolbar itself. That stays solid. And, if I use the Translucency setting in the "Toolbar Properties" it affects the toolbar and the icons both, which I don't want. It's hard to see the icons like that. Here is a screenshot of my two toolbars right now. The top 'standalone' bar and the bottom embedded toolbar.

Let me know if you need to see any other screenshots.

Yes, now I see. You set the toolbar color probably. The transparency is not working when the toolbar color is selected. If you want to change toolbar color and keep the transparency, you can create the transparent PNG and set it as background image.

OK, that worked. I took away the colors and it is showing transparent now. I still wish I could change the look of it a bit, but it already looks much better. Thanks for your prompt help!
