An invisible separator is called a "spacer" in TLB, and it's available in plugin form. If it's not listed in your "New" menu, you can download it with the TLB component manager.

The bug was that separators were sometimes invisible, making them useless as separators. This has been fixed, so separators are no longer invisible.
Just for sure, I'll repeat it: separators cannot be made invisible, that's what spacers are for...
