Full Version: TLB Standalone Cannot be Terminated by Windows 7

Sometimes TLB standalone on Windows 7 hangs. I am offered a box and choose to close the program. But I then cannot restart the program, because the result is a message stating that TLB is already running. Even in process explorer, attempting to terminate the TLBhost.exe process does not work. The process will not terminate. That leaves me no choice but to log off and on or reboot.
What plugins do you use? Is the killing using the Task Manager working?
I use Windows List and Weather add-ins. No, killing via Task Manager does not work. This is not a constant problem. It just happens sometimes. Sometimes if I kill the explorer.exe process, then tlbhost.exe will terminate. But sometimes it will not.
Now it has gotten worse. Now whenever I try to do anything with the toolbar, such as delete an item, it freezes and requires termination via Task Manager, which still sometimes does not work.
Note that this bad behavior by TLB standalone does not always happen. Sometimes it does.
Hmm... usually it is possible to terminate any process (if you have an Administrator rights).

What TLB version do you use? Do you have any antivirus/antimalware software?
I have administrator rights. I always have had. The only thing that usually works is to terminate and restart explorer.exe, wait 5 minutes, and terminate tlbhost.exe. But sometimes that does not work, either, requiring log off and log on.
This is still a problem.
I guess this problem is related to this topic. Do you use the Web Scraper plugin? Maybe you've tried it and the file "Web Scraper.tlbplugin" in in your toolbar folder, but because of incorrect configuration it cause the crash. If you find this file please can you send it to me for inspecting.
No, this does not appear to be related to the webscraper problem. I uninstalled webscraper weeks ago, yet this problem of tlbhost.exe not terminating persists. That file is not on my computer.
