- thequinox - 06-12-2004 I am using TLB v2.2.0.18 RC3 and I keep encountering an error when I try to install other programs. For instance, I have installed TLB and then I go and try to install one of my favourite ID3 tag editors, Taggin' MP3. But once the installation file extracts itself, the TLB installer comes up. This has happened numerous times with many different programs. Every time I run a self extracting installation file, TLB starts installing. Something must be borked with Windows' temp files or something. Can anyone recreate this error? - Yuri Kobets - 06-12-2004 Try to clear TEMP folder. It can be located here: C:\temp or inside "Documents and Settings". Press WIN+R and type %TEMP% - thequinox - 06-12-2004 I've tried that. Is there anything else you can suggest? - Yuri Kobets - 06-13-2004 Strange problem...Try to find and delete the setup file. Its name can be found in the task manager. Note this will be not a downloaded setup.exe - thequinox - 06-15-2004 I don't quite understand what you mean, you want me to end it's process in the task manager? I thought it piggy packed a system service? - Yuri Kobets - 06-15-2004 When TLB setup starts open taskmanager and in the Image Name column find process of this installer the name by default is setup.exe but may be different. Find this file on the disk. By default it inside TEMP folder bu maybe somewhere in other place. Now delete this file and try to install other applications. BTW Somebody else have same problems? - thequinox - 06-26-2004 I've tried to find the setup file, but to no avail. This is very annoying. - Doug Smith - 06-26-2004 Equinox Wrote:This is very annoying.I tell you what is annoying is your gigantic sig file. - Yuri Kobets - 06-26-2004 Equinox Wrote:I've tried to find the setup file, but to no avail. This is very annoying.OK, Uninstall TLB then download and install this version. It uses other installation so problem must be fixed. PS. Please change your sig - it is very large - thequinox - 06-27-2004 I uninstalled and installed your new version and the problem persists. It's not really a big deal though, it only glitches up crappy installers. It's a small price to pay for my glorious TLB! I don't think I could live without it. P.S. Do you want my signature smaller horizontally or vertically? - Yuri Kobets - 06-27-2004 Quote:P.S. Do you want my signature smaller horizontally or vertically?horizontally - thequinox - 07-08-2004 downloaded any self-extracting file with it, it would mess up. But if I download the same file through Internet Explorer it works. It seems weird to me though, I don't understand how the program that downloads the file would have anything to do with how it is run. Oh well, problem solved. P.S is this sig better? - Doug Smith - 07-08-2004 Quote:is this sig better? Is that joke? You have kept it the same size. - corny - 07-09-2004 Doug Smith Wrote:Is that joke? Signatures are not sticky, so when one changes his sig, the signature below older posts also changes - HorusUK - 07-09-2004 Corny, </schoolboy mode on> My sig's bigger than yours :p </schoolboy mode off> |
