I hate to bring this up again, but as reported earlier my explorer crashes randomly when trying to access TLB's rightclick menu.

With latest beta and now with the new final version, this still happens, but it seems worse than before: it even seems to happen when left-clicking or just hovering over icons...

It strikes me that explorer.exe takes up >25Mb of memory when TLB is loaded... ok, I stuffed the entire bar with plugins... how much memory does explorer take up for other people?

Please let me know what I can do to help in finding what's going wrong here...

Again :0 The problem is that I cannot reproduce this bug. I'm using shell menu in submenu all time you reported this bug but TLB never crashes on right-click.

Please can you post screenshot of context menu again and discribe every item of shell menu. I need software name, version and URL where I can download it. I'll try to install all you have and test that configuration.

29MB on laptop and 35-40 on desktop computer.

27MB or so here.

explorer is crashing quite frequently for me as well....I'm getting floating point, divide by zero errors

- jgallen - 07-05-2004

not only that, but explorer is taking 49 mb of resources

- jgallen - 07-05-2004

looks like its the drive space plugin that's causing the errors

- Dracula - 07-06-2004

I should add that I now use an 'inline' context menu... so not as submenu, just together with the TLB options...

I'll start removing plugins one by one, hoping that explorer will not crash eventually Wink I've started with Drive Space...

Windows Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1
Shell Version:6.0.2800.1348
Internet Explorer Version: 6.0.2800.1106
TLB version: 3.0

I am using Drive space plugin but I cannot reproduce the explorer crash. 26MB resources. I do not use skins. Version 3.0 is very stable.

about 21mb for explorer.exe
I use an older version of TLB and not many plugins though.
don't forget also that the amount of ram the explorer takes doesn't depend only on TLB. Removing a wallpaper could save quite a bit for instance. Smile

My explorer.exe process takes between 27Mb and 85Mb depending on what configuration I'm currently running. The number of TLB process stays the same, and I have not seen as many crashes since upgrading to V3.0.

- Dracula - 07-07-2004

Ah ok, so it's a normal size for explorer.exe....

Sigh, I vaguely remember the time it used only 5Mb of memory, and the total memory usage of the entire system was 60Mb (using Windows XP! )... and then I started customizing... Wink

I hate to jump to conclusions too soon, but I haven't noticed a single explorer crash since I deleted the Drive Space plugin... Maybe it also depends on the properties of Drive Space, like how many hidden drives...

jgallen, how did you find out so quickly it was Drive Space causing troubles?

- Yuri Kobets - 07-07-2004

Dracula Please can you send me tlbplugin file of your drive space. Also send me the screenshot of your Drive Space. My email support@tsoftcentral.com

- jgallen - 07-07-2004

because I kept getting floating point errors when hovering over drive space. I uninstalled it and haven't gotten an error since. I'll try re-installing later today and I'll let you know if I get the error again

- jgallen - 07-07-2004

I just tried deleting the drive space plugin folder and re-installing. I still instantly get the floating point error when I hover over the drive space plugin

- Yuri Kobets - 07-09-2004

Please try Drive Space v2.2 (download it via live update). The floating poit error must be fixed there. Let me know if there are any problems.
