Working with colors - rbienstock - 10-26-2004

I've set TLB to use a specific toolbar color to override the toolbar color. But having made this change, I need to change the appearance of some other items, that I can't figure out how to control:

1. Although the toolbar shows my chosen color when nothing is happening, if I hover the mouse over a button, it changes color from my chosen color to the standard color. How can I control the color of a button being hovered over?

2. How can I change the color of the arrows that appear next to a menu button from black to something else?

Windows Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1
Shell Version:6.0.2800.1556
Internet Explorer Version: 6.0.2800.1106
TLB version: 3.1

Right-click on a folder and select TLB Settings>Skins>Check Use custom colors>Menu Text Color
This will make the arrows the same color as the menu text item.

I guess that I wasn't specific enough. The change you recommended will change the arrow that points to the right on a menu item to enable you to display the sub-menu. That's not what I want to change. What I'm trying to change is the arrow that points down that is located to the right of the button on the toolbar itself when no menu is being displayed.

rbienstock : what TLB skin are you using?,
as i am pretty sure that the arrow that you are talking about is displayed from a image stored in the skins directory

I'm using the default skin.

rbienstock please post screenshots here with invalid button color.

#2 refers to this -

The attached shows issue number 1. I don't know why the cursor doesn't show up in the screenshot, but the cursor is hovering over the Internet Explorer button. The buttons on either side reflect the toolbar color that I've selected. As to issue number 2, the screen shot posted by Qsection shows the issue.[/img]

Could you check you TLB settings... under Skins and see if you're using a skin?

If you are, please make a note of the skin name, and what is being skinned (menu and/or toolbar).

Thanks! Big Grin

I am using the default skin (i.e., no skin).

What you're seeing is the behaviour of the default skin in action!

If you want to change the colour of the button backgrounds, I'd have a look through the TLB skins section for a skin you like.

Given the blue you've chosen for the toolbar background, I'd suggest Blue Office 2003 or LunaII.

... Or you could always try your hand at creating your own skin. The TLB skin specifications can be found here:
