Mail Monitor & Gmail - csindone - 11-16-2004 Microsoft Windows XP Professional version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Shell/IE Version: 6.0.2900.2180 True Launch Bar Version: 3.2 Mail Monitor Plugin Version: 1.10.0.0 Gmail now has POP forwarding, but I am unable to get Mail Monitor to work with it. Has anyone been sucessful? - Yuri Kobets - 11-16-2004 Yes I know about this problem. During some days I'll update MM to support GMAIL. - Aj - 01-08-2005 XP Pro SP2 TLB 3.2 MM 1.11 I set the port to 995 and tried both reg and MD5 for authentification, but it still doesn't work ... Can't get it to work with GMail ... is 1.11 supposed to ? - Yuri Kobets - 01-08-2005 Turn on the "Use secure connection (SSL)" option. Also I recommend to increase timeout value. - Aj - 01-08-2005 Tried this and MD5 and still get a read error ... outgoing settings matter ? - Dracula - 01-08-2005 Have you verified in your Gmail options (in the web interface) that POP3 is indeed enabled for your account? It seems that this is not automatically the case for all Gmail accounts at once... It took several weeks before my account was accessible with POP3... Also, have you been able to retrieve your Gmail messages with any other program (eg. Outlook Express)? The settings you're using are correct (with plaintext password). Maybe you'd better suspend the checking for now and try again later... - Aj - 01-08-2005 It works fine with Outlook ... - Yuri Kobets - 01-09-2005 Try increase timeout value up 60 seconds. - Aj - 01-09-2005 Still trying ... I set the timeout to 280 |
