Was looking for a decent stock ticker app, and couldn't think of a more convenient place to have one than my taskbar ...
I saw there was some talk about using weathermon for this
Any word on any of this ?

If there is a page that contains the information you like then a modified Weather Monitor can be used to display the parsed information.
