Windows has a simple sound and volume control system that is a little difficult to use. Usually you can find the volume control icon in the system tray.

By clicking on this icon you can control the volume that is played out through the sound speakers

If you double click on the speaker icon you can access the full play control screen and from here you can control all the sound options on your system

True Launch Bar can do the same thing only much more easily from one icon on the True Launch Bar.

After installing the True Launch Bar Volume Control plugin you will first be able to choose which controls you would like to have online access to:

After selecting which controls you need you will find each control within the icon on the True Launch Bar. From here you can easily use the mouse to change the volume of each element of your sound system or even mute that element by simply clicking on the speaker sign.

Updated Volume Control – Version 2.0

The new version of volume control now allows skinning so you can make a nice designed volume control that matches your True Launch Bar. Choose the skin from the drop down menu.

You can now also change the layout on the volume control panel from a horizontal style

I find it easiest to create a seperate instance of each volume slider I want to use, i.e. Right Click -> New -> Volume Control then select each source seperately. That way I can name each of them and I get a better description on the tool tip (those little icons can be a bit difficult to see at higher resolutions). I keep them all organized by putting them in a menu. I also use the expand/collapse setting on a seperator to hide the less frequently used sliders which keeps the menu cleaner. With my WinAmp control, I have every audio control I need in one menu.

Yes. That's a very nice idea. Thank you for telling us about it.

If anybody has any good ideas I hope they will post them so we can all learn how to use True Launch Bar better.

Aaaaaaaaargh I've been trying to do that for ages.

When I create the volume control on the taskbar and then drag it into a menu it just shows as Volume Control.tlbplugin.

Any ideas on this?

You can't have virtual control inside virtual menu at the moment. That's why you get the error.

Yuri has said he may fix this sometime in the future.

Yeah, I had that problem, too. What I did for mine was I created the menu first, then right clicked inside the <empty> menu and selected the plugins from there. I had a problem with the width of the volume controls, too. It seems the width is only determined the very first time the bar is created, and fills as much width as available. If your menu is otherwise empty, the bar is very narrow and won't resize if you add something wider to the menu. So what I did to get around this was add the winamp control plugin first, as it has a fixed width, then added all the volume bars. This made everything the same width. Hope this helps! Big Grin

I wonder if the author of the volume control would mind to add a skinning system and have the option to have the volume sliders arranged horizontally, like "| | | | |..." thanks.
