I want to set up animations for the email notify feature, but it will only accept BMP and PNG. The first isn't even an animated filetype, and the second, when animated, is more correctly MNG. However, whatever I've tried, all I get is the default animation. Could somebody tell me if this truly is a bug, or point me in the right direction if it isn't.

Thanks

I do believe that you just put the frames of animation vertically (you don't actually use mng).

Here is an example (from the mailmon webpage):

and here is the mailmon webpage:

That's absolutely correct. Also, the frames have to be square, because TLB uses the image's width to determine both the height of each frame and the number of frames from the height of the animation image.

Hmm, well let's change this from a bug report into a feature request then!

Yuri, would you please add animated GIF (and maybe other animated file formats) support to mail monitor. PLEASE!!

I'm sure one reason .png and .mng are used:

They're free of licensing issues.

.gif is a CompuServe format that requires licensing to redistributed.

.mng is not a supported format, but I'm sure you're probably right about .gif not being supported due to licensing issues.
