Ok, sometimes, if I have Windows Media Player 9 up and running, and i go into a virtural folder, the hard drive starts reading a LOT, and the items in the folder start to flicker a bit. There's no noticable performance slowdown, but the HDD is going nuts. I'm pretty sure this only happens with WMP9, but I'm not sure. If I close WMP9, the HDD issue goes away. This could just be my computer, but see if you can duplicate the issue. Give it some time, sometimes the problem doesn't start up for a few minutes.

I'd like to help as I'm sure others would but first let me ask you have you bothered to read this

It's tough to pin down your problem if we don't know your system details.

Help us out.

Also please tell about the Virtual Folder you opened. What files it contains? All files names are in english or not?

meh, its not that big a deal. not worth all that effort. though I'd just throw it out in case others have the same problem and happen to see this thread...

Shame, it might have helped others with a similar problem. Wink

k, i have some time so i'll go ahead and put some effort into this...

Running Windows XP Professional, and the latest TLB.

The virtual folder is my D:\ drive, which is my non-OS partition. Problem doesn't happen in my other folders. all files/folders are english.

Can't really take a screenie of it. Dont have access to another machine to try this on, but if i do get the opportunity, i'll try.

What else would help?

thanks all!
