- shapeshifter - 04-14-2003 Paintshop Pro by Jasc Software is another good (and free) graphic program. My choice, hands down. - jgallen - 05-09-2003 shapeshifter: could you make a Full 48 skin.ini please? - shapeshifter - 05-09-2003 Quote:shapeshifter: could you make a Full 48 skin.ini please? Ok, but it will take me a bit longer because I'll have to make all the graphics from scratch... How do you want it to look? - bbfi - 05-09-2003 Quote:Paintshop Pro by Jasc Software is another good (and free) graphic program. My choice, hands down.shapeshifter, I checked out their site and Paintshop Pro is $99.00, not free. ??? Is there an older version or something that is free? If so, where can it be downloaded? - shapeshifter - 05-09-2003 It's a free trial - supposedly for 30 days, but mine never quit working after that. Maybe mine was a fluke or something though... - jgallen - 05-09-2003 shapeshifter, why would you have to create totally new graphics? Couldn't you just resize the graphics and then have the condition underneath, and then Temp, Humidity and Wind (or something like that) next to it. Basically all I need is the skin.ini, I already resized the graphics (bg, 38x64, all the rest, 38x38) and currently I have the temp below. - Yuri Kobets - 05-09-2003 I know some free graphics editors: * GIMP - This editor comes from Linux. Very powerfull but maybe difficultly to study. * Serif Photoplus 5.5 - On <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.freeserifsoftware.com">www.freeserifsoftware.com</a><!-- w --> old versions are free. This is very nice editor with support of many formats. May you find this information useful - jgallen - 05-26-2003 shapeshifter, have you been able to do what I requested earlier? I know you are probably busy, but I was just wondering if it was possible to do - shapeshifter - 05-27-2003 Quote:shapeshifter, Not yet. I have been unbelievably busy with work and other engagements and haven't had the chance. To answer your earlier question, if I just scale the images up, they get pixelly. They will look sharper to scale them down from the 52x52 versions on weather.com (better yet if I just break down and draw them myself at the correct size). If you have graphics you like, I should be able to just make you a skin file. It would be easier if you could email me the graphics you have, along with any changes/additions to the description you posted earlier. - jgallen - 05-28-2003 if you could just make me a skin.ini file, that would be sweet. As far as the pixely images, they show up very good if I change it to 38x38 and my resolution is 1600x1200, so it doesn't look pixely at all. Just let me know what size I should make my bg.png and if you could write the ini for it, that would be awesome - jgallen - 05-28-2003 shapeshifter, don't waste your time, I just figured it out :-) I'm getting better at this skinning thang thanks for all your help - jgallen - 05-28-2003 maybe I'm not an expert yet.... how do I make the wind conditions show up in the skin? - Q Section - 05-29-2003 Hello jgallen Perhaps we can help a little. The others like shapeshifter are the pros but we know a little (because they taught us). To make the Wind conditions show in the WM you need to have the Wind parsed in the provider ini file and then you need to select a Data slot (0-n where n is the number of Data slots you plan on having) in the skin ini file to display the Wind. We were not following the thread all the way so we do not know what your skin is supposed to look like. Any more questions please post and we will be happy to help further. - shapeshifter - 05-29-2003 Yeah, what he - er they - said. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask. The work virus has been consuming most of my free time lately, but I get a chance to pop in here frequently enough. In the future, though, it helps us answer you if you can be as specific as possible. - jgallen - 05-30-2003 I can't get wind to show up correctly. I'll post my skin.ini and my provider.ini: skin.ini: [options] name=FULL 48 author=TrueSoft email=support@tsoftcentral.com url=http://www.truelaunchbar.com version = 2 [general] Background=bg.png iconPos = 1 1 [DataSlot0] param = Temperature SkinText = 0 rect = 0 15 80 30 LabelType = short LabelRect = 0 0 10 10 font=Verdana bold=1 italic=0 align=right ShowUnits = 1 [DataSlot1] param = Condition SkinText = 0 rect = 0 45 80 60 font=Verdana bold=1 italic=0 align=center [DataSlot2] param = Wind SkinText = 0 rect = 0 30 80 45 font=Verdana bold=1 italic=0 align=right [default icons] Sun=sun.png Clouds=clouds.png Lightning=storm.png mix=mix.png PartlyCloudy=pclouds2.png Rain=rain2.png Snow=snow.png [wunderground.ini] Overcast=sun.png [yahoo3day.ini] Fair=pclouds.png [weather.ini] Fair=pclouds.png snippet from weather.ini: [Wind] name = Wind find0 = "CLASS=obsInfo1>Wind:</TD>" find1 = "CLASS=obsInfo2>" delim = "</TD>" is this correct?
