- Dracula - 04-01-2004 The problem was first reported in this thread, but it still exists in 2.2.0.17! I hope this bug can be smashed before TLB hits the next final version. It only seems to happen when the shell contextmenu is in a submenu. There is no problem when TLB has just started, but after several hours, explorer can suddenly crash. The crash is triggered when right-clicking on a normal shortcut somewhere in TLB (either on the main bar, or in a menu). What happens is that explorer simply vanishes without any error message, and then restarts. Below is an example of my context menu... - Yuri Kobets - 04-01-2004 Working some hours with same config without error. Maybe I must wait some more... - Yuri Kobets - 04-01-2004 BTW when explorer crashes? When you right-click the button or when you click any of menu items? - Dracula - 04-03-2004 When I right-click on any normal shortcut (.lnk file)... So far it hasn't happened when right-clicking on a plugin, or folder (menu). Heh, just right-clicked the shortcut to 'openrun.exe', and this time explorer crashed with a default Window XP error message... - Atomhrt - 04-20-2004 I do not know if this is the same problem, but if I right-click on a menu item to look at the properties, I get a locked up system (no video refreshing) and have to reboot. I installed v2.2.0.18 RC3 thinking this may resolve the problem, but it did not. I am using the 2.0 spacer plugin. Any ideas, comments? - Dracula - 04-20-2004 Indeed I can confirm that this problem has not been solved in version 2.2.0.18 RC3 I just right-clicked the shortcuts on TLB, and the first few context-menu's opened fine, but at the 4th click, explorer crashed with a default Windows XP error message... It seems that the amount of GDI objects keeps increasing after every right-click, maybe related to this problem... - Doug Smith - 04-20-2004 Quote:Indeed I can confirm that this problem has not been solved in version 2.2.0.18 RC3Cannot Reproduce. Check your sytems (tweaks-skins-game software) True Launch Bar 2.2.18.RC3 - Atomhrt - 04-20-2004 Drac, do you have KB821557 installed? I do. I am probably going to uninstall it. There are several posts about right-click problems with this hotfix. - Dracula - 04-20-2004 Tested with two different systems with different WinXP and TLB skin configurations... It only happens with the shell menu inside a submenu as shown in the image. Verify that before trying to reproduce it. And it only happens after a certain amount of time... |
