Depends on my need, I switch current TLB bar among several bar sets which I store in folders other than the default one.
I am rebuilding WinXp with a new harddisk, so I need to transfer TLB exactly as it is on my current harddisk to the new one.
Sad to say, if not by the help of few others utilities, I won't be able to do the transfer easily and correctly. I think TLB is really short of facility for transfering:
Backup problems:
1) Profile can not be transfered (Unless you know where they are and manually copy them)
2) Skins and plugins being used are not backup by TLB's "Backup" function
Restore problems (on a new HDD):
a) When restoring to a new harddisk, TLB always restore bar set to the default folder (where the WinXP quicklaunch bar is stored), irregardless of where the original location the bar was backup
b) Subsequent restore overwrites the earlier one in the same location as mentioned in a).
c) After restore, a bar does not appear in the "toolbars" section. I mean, it is not there at the TLB settings ...->Toolbars list. The list is empty.
The perfect scenario will be, if a bar set is originally stored in <path A> (which is not the default location), it will be restore to the same folder if that folder exist on the new harddisk, if it does not exist, prompt user to where the bar should be restored.
Since all bars are restore to the same location with no prompt, newer restore will overwrites the earlier one. This make restoring multiple bar sets impossible (with the TLB restore function).
I strongly hope TLB 's backup and restore function can be improved such that everything can be backup and restore exactly, this is critical when user need to install a new harddisk (and therefore rebuild Windows) and need to carry over every TLB settings, bars, skins and plugns.
(That can really make life much easier for user like me, and I think is a must for users with little technical background)
