I have been using True Launch Bar for a while now and have enjoyed using it. But after I have installed 3.213 RC1 I now have an issue. True Launch bar will not create a new toolbar for me, the True Launch Bar selection is there but it doesnt do anything, even if I press and hold shift. I have tried the fixes for other people that have had similar issues to no avail. Tlbhost does work as it should but it only gives one toolbar and I was interested in at least two toolbars. I am running Win XP SP2. I have tried to reinstall a few times and tried to install the older 3.2 version and it also did not help. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for such a useful tool!

Hello hometownnerd and welcome to the forum.

When you attempt a second TLB do you do these things?
1) Right-click anywhere in the Toolbar and select Toolbars
2) Select True Launch Bar...
3) Select <Standard Quick Launch>
4) Click OK

Now you should have another TLB within the existing toolbar that you can drag to anyplace.

Yes or no?

My problem was that TLB (the taskbar version) would not work in the first place. tlbhost, the stand alone version would work but I thought I could not make a second toolbar with it, now I realize that tlbhost actually allowed me to create a second one. TLB, the taskbar version, still will not allow me to create a toolbar by right clicking the taskbar and selecting toolbars....true launch bar.

I did try to install free launch bar and it appears to be working fine, well as fine as it can, not nearly as good as true launch bar.

Thanks again for your help.
Hopefully I can start to use the taskbar version again.

I have some reports with bug during version 3.2.13 installation.
Install version 3.2.13 then download this file:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://download.truelaunchbar.com/test/tlb-test-13.zip">http://download.truelaunchbar.com/test/tlb-test-13.zip</a><!-- m -->
and replace tlb.dll with file from tlb-test-13.zip
run the command:
regsvr32.exe "c:\program files\truelaunchbar\tlb.dll"

If this command show error message let me know.

I uninstalled FLB and TLB, then installed TLB RC1 then replaced dll with new dll (they both had same date time and filesize by the way, which I thought a little odd) I then right clicked on the taskbar and clicked Toolbars...True Launch Bar.... the hard drive spins a bit and then nothing happens. TLBhost, the standalone TLB is still working but it starts much slower now (1-2 minutes for startup of tlbhost and for each toolbar starting from the right click....new toolbar), it does allow me to have multiple toolbars but it seems to forget the settings on boot, so I lose all but one of my toolbars. When I try to start a new toolbar by right clicking the tlbhost toolbar and selecting New Toolbar tlbhost goes to 100% utilization and becomes non-responsive for 3 minutes 30 seconds and then pops up the folder chooser and then after picking the folder tlbhost becomes non-responsive again (cpu utilization at 100%) for 3 minutes 35 seconds. After that it comes back and the toolbars are fine with default settings but with the correct plugins as set in the folder. I am currently using a Dell Laptop 1.7 GHz Centrino with 2 GB of Ram and Win Xp Pro. TLBhost has two toolbars, one has standard Quick Launch and the other one has Battery monitor, CPU Uptime, Wireless Monitor, Turn Off Computer, Weather Monitor, Drive Space, LAN Monitor, and Volume Control. I am not sure what other information may help you.

Is there something on my pc that could be causing this? Your toolbar has worked great up until recently, so I worry it is my PCs fault.

Again, thanks for this great tool and for your help,
Larry

Thanks for giving me 12 to reinstall.....12 has made tlbhost operate exactly as it should, extremely fast start and creation of new toolbars (within tlbhost) and no 95% utilization or non-responsiveness. Still have issue with creating True Launch Bars from the taskbar, via right click. After I try to create a new toolbar by right clicking it spins the drive a bit and then that is it, it never gives me a box to choose what folder to use. Is there a something in XP that prevents TLB that you know of?

Any other info you may need just let me know, I would be glad to help.

Thanks again for your help,
Larry

I'm using 3.2.13 RC1 and I now have lost my Upper tool bar.......

Bug report submitted.......

When I re-boot, the upper tool bar does not appear.........

I then re-launch, and drag the bar up to the top......It stays there until I re-boot.......

Appears to be a bug.....

We are using one of our TLB's at the top as well but there are no anomalies or problems. Using 3.2.13 RC1 also.

Well that's what makes it a bug.........sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't....

I've used 13.RC1 since it came out, and no problems.......now all of a sudden, TLB seems to be losing it's memory??

What's Up??

TLB don't know what toolbars must be opened. TLB don't control this. The saving toolbars positions is under Windows Explorer control.

Here is the thread that can help you.

The hometownnerd's problem is completely different. He can't to open toolbar at all.

Found some tweaks that can help you:
Code:
Delete the following registry key and restart
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoToolbarsOnTaskbar"=dword:00000001

This value disables taskbar toolbars

Let me know if something helps you.
