How do you get full control in a multi column menu?

When working with a multi column menu, TLB isn't letting me choose where I want things. For example, if I have three sub-menus, it's automatically deciding to put two on the left and one on the right. If I try to drag one of them to the right column so that there's two on the right and one on the left, TLB won't let me do this.

Is there any way to have full control over what goes where?

I understand. Perhaps at some point, you will change this to give more control over placement.
