"shut down computer" plugin to allow windows update install?

I use startkiller and don't see the start menu anymore, however if there are Windows updates to be installed on shutdown, I'm using the "shut down computer" plugin and any windows updates will NOT install using that button?

Any fix or workaround other than bringing the start menu back to shut down? If it wasn't for that, I would never have see the windows start menu again!
