Hi, I was interessted on your option "Disable Start Menu" in startkiller.
Im using Windows 2008 over a terminal Server session and run startkiller (for test) at that server environment.
Our users should start some applications in a container, but we not allow a desktop and a start menu. But our users need a taskbar, if they minimize their programs.
In Win 2003 I wrote a little program hat hides the start button (FindWindow + ShowWindow(hwnd, false) ) and set the desktop with EnableWindow to disabled.
But now with W2008 I see its not working any longer.
So I test Startkiller. But the effect stays the same. Even with "Disable Start Menu" I can click on the left corner and a start menu appears. In an empty taskbar (no other programs running) I can click in the invisible start button area and I also get a start menu poped up.
For me its a bug and I can't sell it as feature, because our users should not open other programs on our terminal server. Maybe you have an idea to get rid of that start menu?
Kind regards
Nighty
