I don't know if this is a bug or what. Anyways email notify is a cool little addon, but when it checks for new mail it stays checking, even when there is no new mail. (the animation icon stays going for over an hr and my cpu activity goes to 15%). Is there anyways for it check for new email, stop when it detects that there is new mail or not and change the icon when there is new mail?

There are two bugs I've noticed related to the eMail notify plugin:

1) I use an IMAP email client, and I routinely leave messages in my inbox for days at a time. However, they are marked as read and are not 'new' messages. The email notify applet should note this and not report read messages as new.

2) The sound notification should only go off when there is a positive change in the number of new messages-- now it goes off every 5 minutes, regardless of whether there is 'new' mail or not.

Visit our plugins page and download Mail Monitor. All your suggestions have been released there.

It do not check mail while animation play. In the next release of Mail Monitor I'll add opportunity to replace animation by an icon.

I have installed mail monitor under Windows 2000. It sems to operate correctly *except* I am unable to preview the BODY of the text. I can see all the headers but not the actual body of the email.

For example: Below is the last few lines I can see:

etc etc etc
X-Priority: 3 (Normal)
X-MSMail-Priority: Normal
X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook, Build 10.0.3416
Importance: Normal
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2600.0000

I wonder if others have this same situation. Is mail monitor designed to be like this?

you mentioned earlier in this thread that it would "work" with imap servers? I downloaded it and it didn't work with my imap server. Is there some special setting or port I need to use? Or will the next version support IMAP servers?

thanks.
