I wonder if anyone has found an answer?

Problem: Truelaunchbar appears in toolbar list but won't start when clicked.

Attempts: 1: All registry fixes from this forum. Result: None worked.
2: Uninstall and reinstall. Result: Didn't work
3: Install Freelaunch and then Truelaunch: Result: Freelaunch works but truelaunch doesn't. In fact Freelaunch works when Truelaunch is clicked on.

I am not sure what to do next.
I have just this weekend registered and cant input the reg. code. and now i feel a little frustrated.

I am hoping that some kind person is able to help.

Cheers

Just send the answer by email but maybe the this way to fix the problem:
1) Uninstall Free/True aunch Bar
2) Download and install Free Launch Bar from our website (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.freelaunchbar.com/download/freelaunchbar.exe">http://www.freelaunchbar.com/download/freelaunchbar.exe</a><!-- m -->)
3) Install True Launch Bar

Now you can uninstall FLB if don't want to use it.

PS. the old installation of Free launch Bar have some bugs in the installer. The package from our website is fixed.

Hey, thanks for the mail and the reply here :-)

None of your suggestions had any effect.
The only thing that is happening is:
when freelaunchbar and truelaunchbar are both in the toolbar list
and I click freelaunchbar...nothing happens. If I then click Truelaunchbar, freelaunchbar loads!
This is with new downloads of both freelaunch and truelaunchbeta
on winXP pro machine.

Puzzling.

Please check the registry keys:
For True Launch Bar:
Code:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{FC712CA0-A945-11D4-A594-956F6349FC18}\InprocServer32
Code:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{F1447D00-6982-43AF-A009-67051ACA4E3B}\InprocServer32
For Free Launch Bar
Code:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{6D79AB23-2815-4F9A-BB33-DFED7862971B}\InprocServer32
Code:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7D039DFA-504C-4A64-B3D2-9350855E9F29}\InprocServer32

The default value for these keys must contain the full path to tlb.dll (True Launch Bar) and flb.dll (Free Launch Bar).

If the path is incorrect please try to write the correct path and restart.

These 4 keys are all as you say they should be. :-(

Are you sure that Free launch Bar is opened when you click True Launch Bar? Generally TLB must look like FLB.

Try to restart

Try to restart

FreeLaunchbar has the tick next to it.
And the menu on the toolbar (right click) shows FLB settings options.

Restart does nothing. Undecided

Tis a mystery to me. Can't see what windows is doing to stop it working.

Try to uninstall both F\TLB and install TLB only. Check the registry keys again.

Restart after uninstalling and installing.

Uninstalled both.
Restarted
Installed TLB
Restarted
Keys are ok. TLB are there FLB are not.
TLB still does not start, even though it is in the toolbar list.

Thanks for continuing to try to help.
It must be double frustrating for you, not being able to get
hands on.

You are right.

Well, try to install version 3.2 (As I know you are installing the last beta). Maybe this version will work. Uninstall 3.2.10 first.

No luck. I uninstalled 3.2.10, restarted, installed 3.2, restarted
and it's in the toolbar list but not starting. sigh.

There's gotta be a logical reason. Some windows quirk that is affecting
TLB starting.

Try to hold down the SHIFT key while click on True Launch Bar menu item. This must show the toolbar selection. At this momment TLB is loaded but not initialized completely. If you see this dialog box try to select other folder for toolbar.

Thanks again for trying to help.
I wll also keep hunting here. I've rechecked that all tweaking software is uninstalled. I've rechecked all registry settings.

Better than a rubics cube!!
