not sure but i -think- the weather monitor polls for weather immediately after startup. i suppose this would be ok with a constant internet connection but i'm dialup and am seeing an iexplore 'your connection isn't available' (or something to that effect) message with an option to retry or work offline.
if indeed the plugin is doing this, shouldn't it check for a connection before polling the first time?
