Using TL 4.4 on a Windows 2000 SP4 machine, whenever I right click on a menu item, explorer hangs with a message about not being able to read the memory. This started happening about a month ago. The only way to get the computer to function is then to hit ctrl-alt-delete, choose task manager, end the "explorer" process, and then run "explorer." This restores the desktop, taskbar, and toolbars. But it means I can never right click on any item in any menu.

I uninstalled 4.4 and reinstalled it. No improvement.

Now I see that rightclicking on any desktop icon produces the same result. So it is an explorer problem, which I probably have no way of fixing.

I have switched over to standalone TLB on this machine, and that solved the problem as applied to menu items. Standalone TLB seems less closely tied to explorer.

You can fix this problem in TLB by selecting the context menu template without shell menu.
