True Launch Bar unicode release have been released for testers.

WHAT'S NEW
This version of True Launch Bar is native unicode application. This means the improved performance on NT platforms (Windows NT4/2000/XP). Also this version of TLB support languages with double wide (unicode) characters (like the Japanese language).
Certainly TLB is compatible with Windows 9x/Me (do not forget install unicows.dll as described). If you have any problems with Windows 9x/Me please len me know.
Also this version contains some bugs fixed.

Also LCMAN with support of double wide (unicode) characters have been released. LCMAN is utility that helps you easy translate TLB into your language.

Please test this version of True Launch Bar and give me know about results of your testing. The opinion of the Windows 9x/Me users is especially interesting (there are can be some problems on this platforms).

IMPORTANT Read readme.txt file inside package.

Thank you.

Does this incorporate 1.2.4 RC2? If not what are the differences? 1.2.4 RC2 works bettter for me than 1.2.3 RC2.

Yes this is version 1.2.4 RC2 (the corrected previos version). I've rewrite TLB code to make it unicode. This will give you improved performance on Windows NT4/2000/XP because only unicode applications is really native for NT platform. Try it Wink

Does this mean Japanese language True Launch Bar can be created?

Yes, now Japanese language can be created with LCMAN. Also Japanese file names must be supported.

I have now installed True Launch Bar unicode version 1.2.4.

At first after restarting I could not switch toolbars and I had several EXPLORER.EXE crashes.

Eventually I had to go into my personal True launch bar folder (not the default quick launch folder) and delete *all* the old TLBDATA files in all my folders and directories.

I then remade my launch bar (easy to do by dragging from old True Launch Bar directory and making new menu)

I restarted and now everything is working very well. I cannot say if performance is better but I think it is more stable.

Anyway that is my experience
