Hi Yuri,

I use a context menu add-on called "PerfectMenu"

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.pitrinec.com/pmeindex.htm">http://www.pitrinec.com/pmeindex.htm</a><!-- m -->

There seems to be a problem with the context menus of
TLB "underlapping" the menus that perfectmenu adds to the left of the context menu.

Screenshot of the problem is here:
[url=http://members.home.net/rmewes/images/pmenuTLB.jpg

TLB's]http://members.home.net/rmewes/images/pmenuTLB.jpg

TLB's[/url] context menu shows up under the add-on on the left, thereby obscuring some of the text from the TLB context menu.

I'm not having problems with any other app & perfectmenu, so I thought I'd check with you first as the problem seems to be specific to TLB & perfectmenu.

Hope you can help.

Rich

That is a "Perfect Menu" Problem/Action...
It tops itself over everything... Smile

I appreciate your response Eric, but as I said, no other app has a problem with perfectmenu. I'm not saying it isn't a perfectmenu problem, just that observations & testing "seem" to point to to TLB at this time.

I have another toolbar app I use from time to time "Linkmenu" which has the same sort of folder "Pop-outs" or "menus" if you will, as TLB, & I have no problem with it "underlapping"

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://members.home.net/rmewes/images/pmenuLnkmenu.jpg">http://members.home.net/rmewes/images/pmenuLnkmenu.jpg</a><!-- m -->

I've tried perfectmenu with "regular" windows toolbars & had no problems with it.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://members.home.net/rmewes/images/pmenuTB.jpg">http://members.home.net/rmewes/images/pmenuTB.jpg</a><!-- m -->

Again, I'm not laying the blame on TLB, just going where the evidence takes me & allowing the developer to investigate.

But thank you for prompting me to test further. I've found that I can get TLB & perfectmenu (most of he time) to display context menus properly if I right click near the very right edge of the context menu item.

Here's a capture of them playing nicely:

Let's see what Yuri thinks.

BTW. Eric,

Hope my post didn't sound "testy." Wasn't intended that way. I was just trying to add clarity about my observations re: the problem. Smile

One more observation...

If I click on a TLB menu item near the left side (ie. where or near the icon) & then right click for the context menu item, things seem to work ok. It appears to be just when bringing up the context menu from the middle area of a TLB menu item that the "underlap" occurs.

Rich, I have Perfect Menu, this action for it to top itself..
is what it does.. it is not a problem with truelaunch bar..
If you test a little in the start>programs> then go down
a ways and right click.. it will Perfect Menu will overlap everything..

Its what it does.. Smile

guess I should have told you I have used Perfect Menu before Smile

PMFJI. Somewhat related. Do either of you guys know of an applicaton that allows you to re-organze the right click context menus. There are some options I want to delete and some options I want to move around. Also some of TLB options I would like to group in a different way too.

Thankx in advance

Eric,

Thanks again for the input. Hadn't noticed the start menu thing as I just about never use it!

Guess I'll take it up with pm's author. Although, TLB & start menu have been the only places I can make this happen (*so far at least)

Yuri, if you're still listeneing to all of this, I would still value your opinion on what might be happening & if it can be corrected.

Thanks again Eric for the contructive feedback.

Doug,

What's "PMFJI?"

On to your question.

Perfectmenu seems like it will give you pretty control of the context menu. Though I haven't yet used it for this.

From the web site:
"Ability to customize or replace pop-up (context) menus in any Windows application"

On the freeware front, ContextEdit from PC Magazine will give you some control over context menus, but I've not been very successful getting it to do what I want.

Let me know if you get contextedit to do what you want.
I've had very mixed results.

OK, I'll download PerfectMenu and test TLB with it. I think I know what is matter.
