This is a little strange. Everything with TLB and the above named plug in has been working fine with no problems. Now with no new software, drivers, hardware etc., every time I put my cursor over the weather plugin icon Explorer crashes. I can click on it and get the forecast popup with no problems but if I pause to wait for the current conditions balloon to pop up I just see the outline of the box and then explorer crashes. I attached a small screen avi video file showing what happens. (Disregard that. Your forum doesn't take avi files). All other buttons and plugins work with no problems.

The Event ID program shows these two listings over and over again. Always the same ones. The first one:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Application Error
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 7/29/2007
Time: 11:56:52 PM
User: N/A
Description:
Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.1.2600.3119, fault address 0x00012a5b.

The second one is:

[b]Event Type: Information
Event Source: Winlogon
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1002
Date: 7/29/2007
Time: 11:56:57 PM
User: N/A
Description:
The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.

I have uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the plugin. No effect. I uninstalled, ran the cleanup tool, rebooted, did a registry clean and reinstalled the entire toolbar from scratch. Same issue. Iam stumped at this point as to what to try next.

Advice? Thank you. Big Grin

I am writing this part later. I found a post in the forum that had what looks like the exact same issue as I am having. But there was never any resolution to the problem that was posted. Did you and the poster figure out anything?

What is your Windows version and TLB version. Do you use software like WindowBlinds, something that change the windows positions and/or appearance?

I am using TLB version 4.2 with the latest stable plugins and run XP Professional SP2 with all fixes. I use IconPackager by the Stardock company. Have used it for quite a few years and it has never clashed with anything that I know of. I have also used StyleXP from TGTSoft for explorer bar icons for years. Again, no issues. Those two programs and True Launch Bar have had no problems in the past. Why after all this time? The crashes were no where to be seen one minute and constant now without any system changes-- except maybe a couple Windows XP service patches.

Did you ever figure out what that other customers problem was that I referred to? Everything symptom was the same-- even the crash location codewas the same as my problem.

This crash appear with the Weather Forecast only? Are there tooltips If you hover mouse cursor over other buttons?

Please can you send me the file "Weather Forecast.tlbplugin"? You can get this file by dragging WF button on the desktop or into other folder.

YES, I HAVE TOOLTIPS ON ALL MY BUTTONS. AND THE CRASH IS ONLY OVER THE WEATHER BUTTON JUST LIKE IT WAS WITH THAT OTHER CUSTOMER IN THE FORUM I LINKED YOU TO.

Please can you send me the file "Weather Forecast.tlbplugin"? You can get this file by dragging WF button on the desktop or into other folder.

In the other topic [b]Angelomon[b] reported about the bug with tips, when the tips width is too small. Try to increase the tips width.
