Weather Forecast plugin suggestion: Weather alert support

To me, this is a very important feature, since weather can be a nasty thing, more so where I live now than where I used to. I am not asking for big, extended features like email and SMS alerts, but it would be nice if the Weather Forecast plugin could put up a message box and change its icon when weather alerts were issued. I know that weather.com supports this feature.

Am I the only one who would like this? Does no one know what a weather alert is? Things like severe thunderstorms, hail storms, high winds, tornado watches... Am I some sort of idiot for making this suggestion?
