I believe under certain circumstances it is not possible to Right Click and delete shortcuts i.e. {filename.lnk} within folders.

If the link becomes invalid (say you have uninstalled the application) and you then try to RIGHT CLICK | DELETE Windows will not pop up the Right Click context menu but instead show you the

[Problem with shortcut alert box]

If the shortcut is on the True Launch Bar it then clears the alert and pops up the RC context menu and you can delete *however* if the shortcut is within a folder the Right click context menu is not show and the folder closes leaving the shortcut intact.

Summary - You cannot cannot delete invalid shortcuts within folders by Right Click.

Please, try to make invalid shortcut and right-click on it inside Explorer window. Do you have the same message?

I think this message is displayed by some shell's add-on. What items do you have inside right-click menu for shortcut?

Yes. I get the same message from within Explorer BUT after I clear the alert I can then delete the invalid shortcut.

Here is the alert shown *after* RIGHT CLICK

Here is the alert shown in the explorer window

After clearing the alert the right click context menu is displayed and I can delete the invalid shortcut as shown

The problem is that if this invalid shortcut is within a folder on True Launch Bar after clearing the alert the folder closes and the right click context menu does not display so I am not able to choose delete.

Can you post screenshot of context menu? And maybe comment non standard items. I need to know what explorer extension show this message box to reproduce the bug.

As temporary solution you can turn off shell's context menu from general tab.
