Hello,

I recently started using the Mail Monitor plugin to check my gmail account. I got everything set up just fine, and it checks and downloads new messages without any trouble.

However, I've noticed that once I mark a gmail message "as read" in the Mail List, either by reading it or clicking "mark as read", the message completely disappears from the Mail List the next time the Mail Monitor checks for new messages in that account.

The mail is still available in Gmail, but for some reason the Mail List seems to be removing its copy of the message after the message has been read.

This doesn't happen when I use the Mail Monitor for my other, standard pop3 (not Gmail) mail account, so I assume it must be a Gmail-specific problem.

Please let me know if you need any additional info to help me with this problem.

Thanks!

Yes this is the gmail specific behavior. It mark message as read after loading message via POP3, and don't show it on next check. Add the "recent:" without quotes before the email address in the User Name of the acount. Something like this:
Code:
recent:myname@gmail.com

I've found this solution somewhere on GMail help pages.

Huh, weird behavior on gmail's part. That did the trick, thank you!

I wonder if that's the same reason Thunderbird wasn't downloading all my messages at home, too..

edit: Found the help page, if anyone is interested:
