I have not tried Volume Control but I have a simple question for it?
Is it possible to adjust volume by scrolling middle mouse button on taskbar to change volume?

Yes this is possible. But you need the special mouse driver or software to scroll windows under the mouse cursor. By default Windows scrolls the active window only.

Until Windows 8.1, I was using a freeware called Volume2 which was doing the job flawlessly. And i didn't need any drivers or else.
That freeware still works in 8.1 with a few minor bugs. But i did not understand what you mean by installing special mouse drivers.
Don't I just need Tordex Wheel for that?

Some mouse drivers (for Logitech mouses for example) have the settings to scroll window under cursor. If you don't have driver with this option you need a software like Tordex Wheel.
