I'm having a problem with Windows Media Player 9 RC1 mini mode and True Launch bar. As you might know, WMP9 has a new mini-mode that puts a small control toolbar into any Windows toolbar (task bar, quick launch, or true launch bars). The problem occurs quite often when minimising WMP9 in to this mode. The wmplayer.exe jumps to 100% utilisation for 30secs to a minute while this happens. It also locks up explorer (taskbar disappears and start menu won't open). Alot of the time I have to logout/login to fix it properly.

Now I thought this might have just been a problem with the early betas of WMP9, but RC1 has just been released and it seems to have the same problem. The reason I suspect it might be a compatibility problem between TLB (1.2.9 RC3) and WMP9 because I always dock WMP9 to my TLB quicklaunch bar. I've tried docking it to the regular task bar and can't seem to reproduce the problem, but my testing wasn't conclusive.

Can anyone else duplicate this problem? Could it be something in TLB (I'm sure MS would have noticed if it happened in regular Windows toolbars).

Any help greatly appreciated.

I just downloaded WMP 9 (9.00.00.2926) and I'm not seeing anything about a mini mode that adds anything to the taskbar. How do you activate that? Or do I have the wrong version?

(Under Windows XP) in the taskbar, right mouse button -> "Toolbars" -> "Windows Media Player". Then minimize the WMP9 window and you should see a toolbar popup on the task bar.

I cannot reproduce this bug. Please try this feature of WMP9 without True Launch Bar (close it).

BTW WMP9 docks not into toolbar but taskbar
