First of all: I don't speak english very well, excuse me for that ???
It would be very nice if you could create a plugin that shows the Upload en Download speeds in KB/s. For instance green figures are for download and red figures are for upload speed.
Perhaps it is possible to change the System Monitor plugin in a way that you can choose for graphic view (colored lines) or for a percentage. For instance CPU use is 80%, Free RAM is 256 MB.
This toolbar proggies will show what I mean:
