Hmm.. something like this could maybe be incorporated into the scratchpad plugin suggested elsewhere? For instance, anything copied to the clipboard would be displayed by the plugin and hence added to it's history, allowing the plugin to function as a clipboard viewer as well. Anything selected from the plugin's history or entered into the plugin would be copied to the clipboard. I don't know how this would work with images (though it would be cool if it could), but text would be pretty straightforward.

That would be a great idea, except I think large texts should be handled differently. I would recommend displaying the first 30-40 characters or so, followed by an elipsis (...) in the history (as opposed to "[Text] 17k" or whatever), as I don't think a thumbnail of a large text section would be very useful. Also, I think the tooltips for all items should include the size (in characters for text, in bytes for images) and the application it came from (i.e. the active window title at the time the item was added, or "entered by user" or something for text entered into the plugin) in addition to the thumbnail for images. For instance: "53k image from Paint Shop Pro - [Digital_Worlds.jpg* [1:2] (Background)]", or "452 characters from Goals.doc - Microsoft Word", or "18 characters entered by user".

I'm really liking this plugin already Wink

Yes, I am asking for this... In the features discussion... And I still waiting for this cool, IMHO, thing Big Grin

And I think, it will be good idea to allow the user to change the text, which is displayed what to give more intelligent names...

If each clip had a check box that would allow you to hold it that would be cool too. The clips would automatically rotate out when more new stuff is copied except for the checked ones which would be retained.

Good idea.. and allow the user to set how many items (or how much disk space) the history should use.

Yeah, like the recent folder. That way the user has more control over how it looks. Good idea!
