I think a really good option would be to suspend checking if a fullscreen application is running (my case, it's a game). I know MSN Messenger can block popups when a fullscreen application is running, so I'm sure it's possible.

Hi all. Smile

[Image: mail_monitor_icons.gif]

As you can see in the picture above, I used some sites' favicons as message icons. Big Grin

I had to convert them to PNG for this to work (and it doesn't always work as expected).
So my suggestion would be for Mail Monitor to accept "*.ico" files (and/or other images file types) as message icons. Wink

P.S: Could the reply window be independent from the main mail monitor one?
i.e, when replying to a message, the only way to copy & paste some of its content is to close the reply window.

P.P.S: Could there be an option to include the original message when replying?
This would make the previous suggestion not as needed. Wink

Would that be the TLB ToDo List plugin, perhaps? Big Grin

- Tool tips on the buttons. (It took me a while to work out what they all did and this would have helped. Some context sensitive help would be nice too. )
- Ability to specify highlight keywords that would automatically be highlighted in the Source, Message & Headers tabs.

Perhaps email addresses containing usernames from the account settings should be highlighted by default. I put anything I like before the @ symbol for my accounts and I often use this to give out unique addresses to each website (e.g. "mspassport_20041010@mysubdomain.ispdomain.tld). Since either mysubdomain or mysubdomain.ispdomain.tld are usually the incomming pop3 server's username, if any email addresses containing them were highlighted it would make it much easier to see where mail, and more importantly spam, was comming from.

It might also be nice if these matching email address were pulled out from appropriate header fields into a column in the right hand pane so that you see them there and sort by them.

Thought of another:

- Ability to specify web interface URL for accounts and button to launch them in my default browser.

Most ISP provide a web interface now and if they don't you can always use <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.mail2web.com/">https://www.mail2web.com/</a><!-- m -->

Actually it might be usefull to have some way of having buttons/links for sites like mail2web independent of accounts.

I am bumping this thread to again request that Mail Monitor have the ability to check for Web based mail.

Previously we have mentioned Yahoo and Hotmail. I would like to add Gmail.

Note - Yes I do know that there are other utilities to check web based mail like web2pop and Yahoopops and Pop Goes the Gmail but that is three utilities and I think a more elegant solution would be for True Launch Bar Mail Monitor to have this ability.

Thank you.

I think Mail Monitor *cannot* connect to the new Gmail Pop server. The instructions for configuration are as follows

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server – requires SSL: pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server – requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587

Account Name: your Gmail username (including <!-- e --><a href="mailto:'@gmail.com">'@gmail.com</a><!-- e -->')
Email Address: your full Gmail email address (<!-- e --><a href="mailto:username@gmail.com">username@gmail.com</a><!-- e -->)
Password: your Gmail password

I have been able to successfully connect to Gmail pop server with Outlook and Outlook Express but the same settings for Mail Monitor *do not work*

Perhaps other users can check this.

Unfortunately my account do not support POP3 access Sad
I'll try with other POP3 servers.
